Stages of Western Civ/Capitalism ("an economic system motivated by the pursuit of profits within a price system.")
 Quigley:
-Mixture 350-700
-Gestation 700 - 970: Feudal/manorial system dominant (custom(?) managed, automatic control dominated)
1st expansion 970 - 1270: COMMERCIAL capitalism (of the municipal mercantilism flavor) dominant, profit through exchange of goods in between cities, typical org: company, municipality managed, conscious control dominated
1st conflict 1270-1440: England attempts control of Western civ
2nd expansion 1440 - 1690: COMMERCIAL capitalism (of the state mercantilism flavor) dominant, profit through exchange of goods in between states, typical org: chartered company, petrified into mercantilism where profit was sought by restricting exchange of goods, state managed, conscious control dominated
2nd conflict 1690 - 1815: 2nd age of conflict, France attempts control of COMMERCIAL capitalism (state mercantilism)
3rd expansion pt1 1770-1870: INDUSTRIAL capitalism (profit through production of goods, typical org: private firm/partnership, owner management, automatic control dominated)
3rd expansion pt2 1850-1932: FINANCIAL capitalism (profit through exchanging claims to money, typical org: corporation/holding company, banker management, automatic control dominated, petrifies into monopoly capitalism)
3rd conflict 1893 - 1945: Germany attempts control under MONOPOLY capitalism (cartels & trade associations, profits from manipulation of the market to make the market price and the amount sold such that his profits would be maximized, manager managed, conscious control becomes dominant in transition from finance to monopoly capitalism)
4th expansion 1934 (1945?)-present (2015?): PLURALIST economy (technocracy?) (lobbying groups, technocrat managed, scientism the dominant dogma, Peter Zeihan suggests that America patrolling the oceans was a crucial component of the massive growth from 1945-2015, global NGOs probably play a bigger than usual role in assigning capital to expansion projects, this is also the UN era, mega banks also continue to play a role, more global interconnectedness than ever before, shipping cost per product has become a rounding error, living standards grew, population size expanded fast, at the same time this was the prime of malthusianism setting the stage for reaction to this in the conflict phase, also: Minski identifies a distinct phase of "money manager capitalism" starting in 1969, data collection becomes more and more important, opinion molding too, technocrat managed, conscious control dominated, but invention of internet lays the groundwork for return to automatic control?)
4th conflict 2001 - present: Global technocrats attempt control of everything by restricting competition: business, media, politics, religion, science, social life (lockdowns, social distancing, genocidal vaccine pushes, etc.), elite ideology officially petrifies into open malthusianism to REDUCE the things achieved in the expansion phase, try to monopolize data access, collection, dissemination, maybe call it "data monopoly capitalism"?, conscious control petrifies into absolute global totalitarianism
5th expansion (?) - 2009 -future: The digital decentralized economy: profits through exchange & facilitation of digital decentralized assets, bitcoin invented in 2009, peer to peer dominates, homesteading returns, 3D printing obsoletes major parts of supply chain, globalist technocrat experiment provides memory of the mistakes of the past, automatic control returns
 Minsky:
Mercantile capitalism: no dates (maybe 1440-1690?)
Classic capitalism 1770(?) - 1860
Finance capitalism: 1870-1929
State finance capitalism: 1929-1969
Money manager capitalism: 1969-present
